As this week’s Tech Thursday, we wanted to remind you about an upcoming event that
might slip your mind-Daylight Saving Time! It’s that time of year again when we adjust
our clocks to make the most of the daylight.
History Lesson:
Daylight Saving Time has been around for quite some time, dating back to its formal inception in 1918 in the United States. However, it wasn’t until the Uniform Time Act of 1966 that DST was standardized across the country. The idea behind DST is to make better use of daylight during the longer days of the year, ultimately saving energy and providing more daylight during the evening hours.
When to Adjust Your Clocks:
This year, Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 10th, at 2 a.m. Remember to set your clocks forward by one hour at that time. Yes, it means losing an hour of sleep, but It also means we’ll have longer daylight hours in the evenings!
So, mark your calendars and set a reminder on your devices to adjust your clocks this Sunday. We wouldn’t want anyone to be late for work or any other important plans. Let’s embrace the change in time and enjoy the longer, sunnier days ahead!
See you at the next Tech Thursday!
